The Morris & Essex Line train No. 734 hit him just west of the Far Hills Station at 6:15 p.m. Saturday, NJ Transit Senior Public Information Officer Emma Wright said.

A medical chopper took him to Morristown Medical Center with undetermined serious injuries, Wright said.

The train, which had eight customers and crew aboard, left Gladstone at 5:52 p.m. and was scheduled to arrive in Summit at 6:36 p.m., she said.

Another train accommodated the customers after service was temporarily suspended between Gladstone and Far Hills, Wright said.

NJ Transit police were investigating.
